Stressed
In Stressed, I explore the intense emotional landscape faced by today’s teens. Each photograph captures teens against a stark black background, with steam flowing from their heads and clothing—a physical manifestation of the pressures, expectations, and inner turmoil that so often remain invisible. The steam represents the simmering stress that builds silently, layer upon layer, as these teens navigate a world that demands so much from them, often without pause.
By isolating each subject in this dark, uncluttered space, I aim to draw focus to their expressions and the symbolic release of steam. The black background heightens the contrast, underscoring both the heaviness of their experiences and the strength it takes to carry that burden. Each image in the series seeks to convey the weight of teenage stress as something tangible, challenging viewers to confront the unseen struggles and recognize the resilience of young people today.
